Dr. Tabora Johnson is an Associate Professor and former clinical practice coordinator in the School of Education at Medgar Evers College, CUNY. She has been closely involved with edTPA from planning to adoption in New York State. Dr. Johnson has supported numerous teacher candidates from 2014 to present. Dr. Johnson’s extensive education career spans over fifteen years from middle and high school classrooms to graduate school seminars. Dr. Johnson began her teaching career as a high school teacher in Bushwick, NY, and later became an assistant principal in Oakland, CA. Specializing in culturally responsive education, her research interests include race and identity in education, preparing successful urban teachers, and black hair— its sociocultural meaning and symbolism.

Dr. Deborah Greenblatt is an Assistant Professor of Multicultural Early Childhood and Childhood Education at Medgar Evers College. She has been working in teacher education since 2004 with a focus on clinical experiences. In 2018, Dr. Greenblatt served on the New York State Clinical Taskforce as the Co-Chair on the Committee for Pre-Student Teaching Experiences. She has been working closely with student teachers and done research about the edTPA since its adoption in 2014.
She has a Ph.D. in Urban Education from the CUNY Graduate Center and was an elementary school teacher for nine years in New York. Dr. Greenblatt's research focuses on the issues of social justice, equity, and democracy in education and teacher certification. You can see her research at:
